Preparation & Storage
Medical food for the dietary management of glutaric aciduria type-1 (GA-1) in young
children.
Administration
Use only under the direction of a physician or dietitian. GlutarAde Junior must
be consumed in conjunction with natural protein, fluid and other nutrients in quantities
prescribed by a physician or dietitian to meet total protein and general nutrient
requirements. Fat, carbohydrate and low protein sources may be used to supply needed
calories and to fulfill essential fatty acid requirements.
The recommended intake of GlutarAde Junor will vary depending on the age, body weight
and medical condition of the individual. Intake is adjusted to maintain normal growth
and development. The daily intake of GlutarAde Junior should be divided into equal
portions and distributed throughout the day.
Mixing Instructions
Add prescribed amount of GlutarAde Junior to recommended amount of cold water, shake
or stir until completely mixed together. For better accuracy, powder should be weighed
on a gram scale. Dilution may be adjusted to taste. Once prepared, store formula
in a refrigerator for no more than 24 hours from the time of preparation. Shake
or stir prepared formula immediately before use. Do not heat, bake or add to food
or beverages above 130°F. Best served chilled. Additional fluids should be offered
at the same time.

Storage
Store unopened can at room temperature. Do not store at extreme temperatures. Once opened, reseal can and store in a cool, dry place (not in refrigerator) and use within one month of opening.
